Colette has been busy making cards,  she has e-mailed me pictures of this gorgeous handbag card, I absolutely luuuuurve it. It is so me! It is really fab with the gems and charms, giving the bag abit of bling bling.

Colette has embellished the handbag with cerise and clear gems from the mix pack of gems for the middle of the embossed flowers. The mix clear gems for the handbag handle and handbag catch.

Colette has finished off the handbag with some charms and a pretty polka dot bow made from cerise polka dot ribbon.

Happy new year to you all, hope you all had a great Christmas and a relaxing holiday…. I know i did, lol.  I even managed to sneak in a little bit of crafting.

A group of us went shopping and I was one of the first who was up and ready on Boxing day (ready to go with my left-over turkey sandwiches) for the January sales. I think i may have even been one of the first to get through the doors, I love my cheap bargains and I’m sure many of you do too.

However i was MAJORLY disappointed, the sales were definitely not that great this year and now looking at my shopping list that’s been stuck on the fridge door for months . . . I didn’t even manage to buy a single thing on it! Seriously not happy.

Anyway this got me thinking about what kind of sale to offer on my website. Should I put on sale craft supplies which are not selling, out of date, or just so last year . . . I think not. I’m going to do 25% OFF everything in store!
That’s right, no small print just nice and simple anything and everything online is 25% off.

Just thought I share my Christmas card with. Not had much time this year to make all my friends and family a Christmas card, managed to make a few.

My Christmas card design for my family

I have used a Christmas Tree stamp from Dimension Stamps, Christmas paper I had in my stash. A piece of cerise grosgrain ribbon. I have used double sided tape on the top and bottom edge of the card, sprinkled tinsel effect glitter which I bought from Glitter Magic at the Craft show at the NEC.

I love this Christmas Tree stamp, I think it is quite a timeless design which I would use again and again. I have embossed the tree with silver embossing powder to give a more of a contemporary feel.  I have finished off the card with self adhesive pink gems and a cerise pink gingham bow.

How are you all, hope you are all wrapped up warm from the cold blistery wind. I bought some leg warmers today, they bought back memories!

Tracey has been very busy making Christmas cards for her friends and family. She has also manage to make cards and gift bags to sell at a craft fair. “Wow! Tracey you have been very busy!”

Wanted to announce that we have a new designer as part of the Meiflower design team – Colette.

Colette already designs for my friend Wendy at Clipart Fairy, her work is fab!!!

“Like most card makers I started out doing lots of other crafts before I settled into card making. Over the years I have done cross stitch, flower arranging, cake decorating, Faberge style Egg decorating and finally about ten years ago I started doing a little card making, then scrapbooking. Once I discovered digital products there was no stopping me. I now have quite a few digital papers, stamps, clipart, kits etc. My hubby is sitting here laughing as I am writing this and telling me I have about a third of a million digital files, I did say I had quite a few, didnt I LOL”!

‘I like to design my cards in Photoshop before I print them out and make them up, and love adding lots of pretty and sparkly things to finish them off.’

‘For this card I have used Add-on 1, which contains two versions of the topper and decoupage, either ready to print, which is what I have used, or an editable version so that you can add your own sentiment or personalisation. I used Nellie Snellen Multi Frame die MFD020 to cut out the sentiment panel, the gingham ribbon, pearls and little ‘made with love’ charm are from MeiFlower and the beaded pin is from The Ribbon Girl.‘

A quick tip: you can colour them in using either your promarkers or any permanent marker pen. As these are multi faceted what i do is just colour the top part and leave the sides, looks really really nice.

Wanted to show you all these  gorgeous new red mixed pearls which I absolutely love. I find it hard to buy bigger size red pearls, so these pearls are ideal as berries for holly cards and because they come in different sizes they look more realistic when you mix them up. Also if you look closely you’ll see that they have a beautiful sheen to them much better than a simple matt finish.

Holly and Red Berry Christmas Card using Red Pearls

I had this Christmas card idea in my mind over the weekend, so I have managed to find time today to make the card. I bought a Sizzix Die from Craftbug to make my holly leaves, it also comes with a pretty swirl pattern as well. The design is called Sizzix Bigz Die – Flourish, Holly & Mistletoe.

Instead of using all the same size pearls I’ve used different sized self adhesive red pearls to give a much better and realistic effect. The ribbon I’ve used is red grosgrain ribbon which is 7mm wide I’ve stuck the ribbon down randomly to create a nice pattern.

Green Self Adhesive Gems to finish off Christmas Card

I’ve stuck some small green stick on gems on either end of my ‘Merry Christmas’ banner I think it finishes it off  really nice.
