True Love Part 3

January 21st, 2011

Hi Everyone

And finally the last card for the Valentines Day project using the pretty Love heart kit from MeiFlower. The gorgeous matt silver embossed card is from the Payper Box. I have used the card for Christams cards as well, it is really versatile.

The clear irridescent sequin flowers, clear gems and red organza ribbon are all part of the love heart kit.

The basecard is a 6 x 6″ white square card.

Gorgeous red, silver and black themed Valentines Day card

I have matted and layered matt black card and silver irridescent mirror card, rounded the corners with a corner punch. This gives a nice sophisticated look for the Valentines day card. I have tied red organza ribbon along the fold side to go with the red heart to make the card look more lovey dovey.

To stick the sequin flowers onto the heart. I put some solvent free UHU glue onto a scrap piece of paper and dipped the flower sequins into the glue slightly, this helps reduce excess glue coming out around the sequin flower.  Stick them quite close together. I have used the clear gems from the kit to stick on top of some the seuin flowers randomly, again using the same technique with the glue on a scrap piece of paper.

Once the sequin flowers and gems have dried, stick the heart on to the silver irridescent mirror card. To finish off the card design, I have stuck a few of the clear irridescent flowers onto the silver irridescent mirror card but more sparsley spaced out.

Hi Everyone

Wow! I have managed to keep to my word and post card design No.2 for Valentines Day. Hope you liked the first valentines day card that i posted yesterday.

So are you  making a handmade card or making a romantic meal for your other half? I made my OH a heart shaped floral arrangement a few years ago, sadly my photos have dissappeared when my OH laptop crashed. I lost alot of photos. of family and my card and flower arranging design work …. sob.

Anyway back to todays project. Most of the items are from the love heart kit from my craft website.

Red and black themed Valentines day card

I have used the bright red heart from the love heart kit to make this black and red themed card. The backing paper is a scrapbook paper I bought from the Ally Pally craft show last year. I love using this paper, it looks really nice on any special occasion card.

In the middle of the red heart, I have stuck black LOVE peel off. Well it was silver but I coloured in the peel off with a promaker pen. I have stuck the clear irridesent flowers randomly to create a pattern on the red heart which gives a bit more dimension. On the middle of the sequin flowers, I have pick out the large cerise gems and stuck them down with glue.

To finish off the card, I have stuck a piece of red grosgrain ribbon along the bottom section with 3 large cerise gems to complement the heart.

True Love Part 1

January 19th, 2011

Hi everyone

How are you all? I have finally got back into card making, spent a full day yesderday making valentines day cards I managed to design 3 different cards and this card that I have posted today is 1 of the cards. Tommorow I will post design No 2.

February the 14th is only around the corner, so I have managed to put together a pretty valentines day card making kit of love hearts, ribbons, sequins and gems on my craft website. Most of the items I have used in this design are part of the card making kit.

Pink and silver Valentines Day Card

I have used the silver irridescent mirror card die cut heart for this design. Around the edge of the heart I have carefully punched out holes using a hole punch. I wanted to create something different and contemporary, so I have used my favourite colour…. Pink! I have used the cerise organza ribbon and embossed baby pink heart ribbon from the kit to thread through the holes, to go across the heart. On the top left section of the heart I tied a knot on the organza ribbon to just to create a more texture.

Once I threaded the ribbon through the holes, I chose the large cerise gems from the kit to stick over the holes to create a sparkly heart. They go really well with the irridescent silver heart.

Sparkly romantic handmade card for Valentines day

I have covered the white square base card with a pretty floral paper from Docrafts. I think it is a new range called Capsule Boysenberry paper pack, gorgeous papers from the pack. I have mounted the silver heart in a black and silver square. The paper is another scrapbooking paper I bought a while ago from the craft shows.

I’ve posted full instructions on how to make this card on my Trimcraft page.

Don’t forget to visit tomorrow to see my second valentines day card design.

True Love!

January 4th, 2011

Hello everyone and a very Happy New Year!

I have had a nice chilled out Christmas, well I had flu over Christmas and part of New Year….Great timing or what!  Managed to recover in time to goto a lovely wedding in Manchester. It was held at The Old Monastery, lovely setting.

It was a very romantic place which reminded me that Valentines Day is only around the corner. I know this is abit early to post this card but February 14th comes around soooo quick.

This design is made on a C6 white card.

Stunning Valentines Day card

I have stuck a wide piece of bubblegum pink organza ribbon across the C6 card horizontally.

I found a sillouette of a heart in one of my craft magazines, drew around the template onto red mulberry paper.

Cut a square out of white glitter card, slightly bigger than the heart. Layered onto a red piece of plastic.

From the pack of mixed sequin flowers, i have selected the pinks and reds to stick onto the heart to create a stunning effect.

From the same plastic I used for the frame around the heart, I stuck a silver ‘true love’ peel off onto a small strip of the red plastic and stuck the strip beneath the sequined heart.
