It is really cold at the moment, just feel like hibernating until the first signs of spring appear. I love seeing daffodil buds appear on the road sides, it so nice to see beds of daffodils, tulips and blossom trees it reallys brightens up my day.
Well since there are no flowers around at the moment in the garden. I thought I put a butterfly and flower card on my blog with the colours of summer, hope this will brighten up a dreary day for you.
This is a made on a c6 aperature card.
Aperture card with a piece of acetate to create a window
Inside of the card, I have stuck a pretty pink, lime green and white stripy paper. Around the aperture I have stuck double sided tape with fairy dust on top to create a glitzy look. I have stuck a piece of pink flower ribbon across the bottom of the card and stuck some self adhesive pink gems on the the ribbon to create abit more texture.
Close up of sequin butterflies and flowers on the acetate
I have used three sequin butterflies folded in half, stuck back to back to create a 3-dimensional butterfly and stuck the sequin butterfly onto the acetate. Gorgeous way of using the sequin butterflies. I have seen this technique of folding butterfly before in a craft magazine but using butterfly peel offs instead.
Pink, white and lime green colour themed greeting card
To finish off the card, I have stuck some matching sequin flowers onto the acetate with a small self adhesive gem in the centre of the flower. I love using this colour combination, it always reminds me of summer……. Bring on summer!
This butterfly birthday card is a design i made for Create and Craft Shopping Channel. It is part of the butterfly kit which went down a storm. I came up with this design whilst i was doing a craft show in Belfast.
Black, silver and white theme for butterfly birthday card.
I have used a C6 white card as the base card. I have covered the front of the card with a gorgeous embossed soft sheen silver card which I bought from payper box at NEC craft show in November.
I have invested in two sets of Spellbinders Nestibilles, i bought a circle set and scalloped circle set. I have a fiskars cutter and plastic circle template but the blade on my cutter gets blunt very quick. The replacement blades for the Fiskars cutter are not cheap, so i have bought the circle nestibilles. I think they are such a good investment especially if you use them all the time.
I was asked last week to make a birthday card for my husbands best friend’s sister. It was quite a last minute request, so i decided to use my favourite flower…. orchids.
Elegant and Simple Orchid Card for Any Occasion
It is such a pretty flower to use, stunning and elegant. The Orchid creates a beautiful card which looks very expensive to produce. I teamed the orchid up with some fluffy plum coloured feathers to give it a wow factor.
Close Up of the Realistic Orchid with Matching Plum Marabou Feathers
The orchid is mounted onto matted and layered plum and white card. I chose a beautiful floral pink paper to give the card an expensive look. To finish off the card, fairy dust has been added onto the top and bottom of the card.
Close up of the Beautiful Paper and Glitter Border
I love black and white theme. It looks so sophisticated it makes an ideal black and white birthday card. My friend Claire from Touch of Craft was selling blocks of patterned paper. She had a beautiful black and white set which included floral vellum.
