Christmas card using red satin ribbon

August 16th, 2011

Hi Everyone

Before i start just quickly tell you there is a fantastic offer on our 23 metre roll of red satin ribbon. Half price for a limited time only, so hurry on to the website to snatch up the deal of the week!

Ok then . . . so this week i thought i would do a red theme and make my first Christmas card for this year using this gorgeous Christmas tree stamp, which I bought from Dimension Fourth whilst I was at the Stamperama show in Stevenage this weekend.

Christmas Card

Christmas card using red ribbons

I love the design of this Christmas Tree, it has decorative stars which I have enhanced by adding some extra sparkle with red pearls and red gems to go along with the Christmas theme. I decided to go for a mixture of pearls and gems to give the illusion of sparkly lights !

I’ve also created this ribbon bow from red cord to decorate the bottom of the tree. It adds a nice contrast to the soft ribbon.

Gold brad and grosgrain ribbon to finish the card off

I’ve really got into pleating ribbon at the moment, here i’ve pleated the red satin ribbon around the back of the Christams Tree to create a border. To do this all you need to do is stick double sided tape around the back edge of the stamped image and slowly create tiny folds. Continue right around the card to create the pleated effect. First time I have done a pleated border, hope you like my first attempt.

I have used a strip of red grosgrain to match the red ribbon border and to finish off the card i’ve used gold brads to pick out the detailing of the gold tree.

Snowed in!

December 11th, 2010

Hi everyone

Just updating my blog on a snowy frosty day but it looks gorgeous looking out the window, it looks so pretty with the snow.

Sittiing down in front of the warm fire and thought i share a Christmas card i made for my sister. Just been so busy and finally managed to find time to put this on my blog.

Pink and green themed Christmas card

Pink and sage green Christmas card

My hubby was abit shocked when i showed him this Christmas card design because it is not usually a colour combination i would usually use for Christams cards. I think after making cards for Create and craft shopping channel, it is nice to do something completely different.

I love using pink and sage green, so i thought i try and do a combination for this Christmas card design. My sister loves anything with gems on and ribbon.

I have used a large square white card for the basecard. The pink polka dot paper is a pretty scrapbooking paper which i bought on my travels around the craft shows. I have used a fiskars scalloped edging punch for the top and bottom edge of the paper. I have stuck thin pink grosgrain ribbon on top and bottom part of the paper. I have used wrapped a gorgeous sage green organza around the card and tied into a bow at the front of the card.

Yummy pink self adhesive pearls around scallop edge

The ‘make a wish’ sentiment i cut out from a scrapbook paper which i bought from craft show. I framed the sentiment in a sage green scalloped circle,  made from nestible die . Around the edge i stuck some pretty self adhesive pink pearls around the edge. Two sequin snowflakes attached to centre with a brad and silver jumpring to attach the snowflakes together.
