Colette has been busy making cards,  she has e-mailed me pictures of this gorgeous handbag card, I absolutely luuuuurve it. It is so me! It is really fab with the gems and charms, giving the bag abit of bling bling.

Colette has embellished the handbag with cerise and clear gems from the mix pack of gems for the middle of the embossed flowers. The mix clear gems for the handbag handle and handbag catch.

“Like most card makers I started out doing lots of other crafts before I settled into card making. Over the years I have done cross stitch, flower arranging, cake decorating, Faberge style Egg decorating and finally about ten years ago I started doing a little card making, then scrapbooking. Once I discovered digital products there was no stopping me. I now have quite a few digital papers, stamps, clipart, kits etc. My hubby is sitting here laughing as I am writing this and telling me I have about a third of a million digital files, I did say I had quite a few, didnt I LOL”!

‘I like to design my cards in Photoshop before I print them out and make them up, and love adding lots of pretty and sparkly things to finish them off.’

Colette Cute Rocker card

‘For this card I have used Add-on 1, which contains two versions of the topper and decoupage, either ready to print, which is what I have used, or an editable version so that you can add your own sentiment or personalisation. I used Nellie Snellen Multi Frame die MFD020 to cut out the sentiment panel, the gingham ribbon, pearls and little ‘made with love’ charm are from MeiFlower and the beaded pin is from The Ribbon Girl.

Love this card Colette!

Ideas for using diamante buckles

August 11th, 2011

Hello Everybody,

As you all know i LOVE things that sparkle and shine especially these gorgeous diamante buckles. Recently i seem to have a tendency of using them ALLLLLL the time, card making, scrapbooking, favour boxes. I actually even thought of adding them onto clothes somehow, but that idea hasn’t worked that well yet. Although i might try making a hair band using these… hmmm… watch this space :D
Sparkly diamante buckles are sooooo versatile for all sorts of cards so here’s a few samples.

Diamante ribbon sliders

Heart shaped diamante buckle on purple background

I used a heart shaped diamante buckle to make a purple themed card. The backing is a metallic mirror card from Kanban, if you look closely you can see the back of the diamante buckle reflecting in the card. I also added some purple gems to decorate the card. I had this lovely organza ribbon lying around in my craft stash, as you can see the ribbon fits just perfectly.

Tracey made a wedding card using the heart buckle. As you can see you don’t always need to use ribbon that fits perfectly. Wide organza ribbon works perfectly as it is quite soft and easy to work. All you do is simply slide the ribbon through to give it a nice ruffled effect. Tracey used ivory chiffon ribbon for her card.

To be honest, i have bought other ribbon sliders in the past and the quality hasn’t been too great, I’ve had these buckles specially made for me. You’ll notice that each diamante gems is individually set. Also the back of the buckles are a nice silver which gives the gems more of a sparkly shine!

Finally . . . . not only do i use these for my cards, my friend recently got married so i wrapped her present with some organza ribbon and what better to finish off the box than a diamante buckle to tell her how much i love her.

I think the chocolate organza ribbon works really well and looks absolutely gorgeous. I’m very happy with this ribbon as it holds its shape really well, I’ve used some before and it was really floppy this also cuts well without fraying.
