Pearl ribbon buckles used to make a butterfly card

September 13th, 2011

Hi Everyone

What a windy and blustery day! Hope you are all wrapped up warm today. I have managed to put the washing out today and it has dried in 1 and half hours from the windy conditions! I think that is the fastest time I have ever managed to dry the clothes outside!

Anyway back to crafting, we have a fantastic offer on pearl ribbon buckles, this week there is 25% off. I love using the ribbon buckles, they do make cards look extra special. Tracey has made quite a few cards using the ribbon buckles, her techniques are completely different to mine. I have learn’t a thing a two from Tracey, she is a very talented lady.

Tracey has threaded the wide sage green organza ribbon through the beaded buckle and tied a bow behind the white pearl ribbon buckle to create this stunning effect. Customers at the craft shows adore this card and are amazed at the method of combining the wide organza with the pearl ribbon buckle.

Tracey has used a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch for the paper butterflies, embellished with shiny green blossom sequins in the centre.

I love this card, it is very simple and elegant. Thank you Tracey for making this very special card for customers to admire at the craft shows.

Would love to know how you add the ribbon buckles. I’m not very good at it and wonder if there is an easy way? Thanks, Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth. Thread the ribbon through the buckle first and tie a bow behind the buckle.x
