Butterflies and Flowers
January 11th, 2011
Hi Everyone
It is really cold at the moment, just feel like hibernating until the first signs of spring appear. I love seeing daffodil buds appear on the road sides, it so nice to see beds of daffodils, tulips and blossom trees it reallys brightens up my day.
Well since there are no flowers around at the moment in the garden. I thought I put a butterfly and flower card on my blog with the colours of summer, hope this will brighten up a dreary day for you.
This is a made on a c6 aperature card.
Inside of the card, I have stuck a pretty pink, lime green and white stripy paper. Around the aperture I have stuck double sided tape with fairy dust on top to create a glitzy look. I have stuck a piece of pink flower ribbon across the bottom of the card and stuck some self adhesive pink gems on the the ribbon to create abit more texture.
I have used three sequin butterflies folded in half, stuck back to back to create a 3-dimensional butterfly and stuck the sequin butterfly onto the acetate. Gorgeous way of using the sequin butterflies. I have seen this technique of folding butterfly before in a craft magazine but using butterfly peel offs instead.
To finish off the card, I have stuck some matching sequin flowers onto the acetate with a small self adhesive gem in the centre of the flower. I love using this colour combination, it always reminds me of summer……. Bring on summer!
Hi Mei, this card is so beautiful. It certainly did the trick and brightened my evening. I think it is really clever as well using the acetate with the butterfly sequins. Just beautiful. x
what a lovely card
i like the way you’ve made the butterflies look like they are fluttering away.
